Why men have to remove headdresses at an entrance to the room and at meetings?
As a rule, men having met on the street or indoors the woman or the man if they are brought up, raise a headdress. Why it is so accepted to do? Why at an entrance to the room in general it is accepted to remove headdresses?
This tradition appeared long ago. Our ancestors considered that, baring any part of a body in the presence of other person, the person shows the respect for this person and for his house, expresses the friendly, peaceful intentions. Most often he is familiar it there was an uncovered head. Over time this custom was transformed to gesture of "a hat pripodnimaniye" as a sign of a greeting and expression of respect for the vis-a-vis, and entering the room of the man absolutely remove a headdress.
to Medieval knights often was necessary to go in full heavy vestments, with a helmet on the head. But in the presence of friends or people of whom it was possible not to be afraid the knight took off a helmet - it is a symbol of the fact that there is no need to protect the head in this case. Removal of a helmet before the woman - too a tribute and a worship for the great lady that was surely appreciated in knights.
